Had

80 riding on the Bulls +4.5 against the Pistons last night using DraftKings' "Bet

Just hit a decent win on NBA props last week and trying to cash out $950 from an offshore book. They're asking for driver's license, bank statement from last 30 days, and a selfie holding my ID. Submitted everything Tuesday morning but still showing "under review" 4 days later.

Is this normal timing? The site says 24-48 hours for document verification but I'm past that window. This is my first withdrawal over $500 so maybe they're being extra careful, but getting nervous about the delay.

What's been everyone's actual experience with verification times? Trying to figure out if I should be worried or just wait it out.

00" Illinois welcome bonus. Placed the bet at 11:44 PM, game was live in the 3rd quarter.

At exactly 11:47 PM — middle of my active bet — I get a notification that the bonus expired and my stake got pulled back. The bet stayed active but now it's coming out of my real money balance instead of bonus funds.

DraftKings support is saying the promo had a midnight cutoff that I should have known about, but nowhere in the terms did it mention active bets would be affected. The fine print just said "expires 11:59 PM CT on January 15th."

Has anyone else dealt with this? Bulls covered the spread and I won

64, but I'm out the original
80 that got clawed back when the bonus expired. Their chat agent keeps referring me to "standard industry practice" but this feels like straight theft.

That's complete bullshit and you know it. DraftKings pulls this crap all the time with Illinois players because they know most people won't fight it. If your bet was placed before midnight, the bonus funds should stay locked to that wager.

File a complaint with the Illinois Gaming Board. They actually respond to this stuff unlike other states.

This is a known issue with DraftKings' bonus system architecture. When promotional funds expire, their platform automatically converts active bets to real money without user notification in most cases.

I've seen similar complaints from Pennsylvania and Michigan users. The problem is their bonus terms typically include language about "unused promotional funds" expiring, but they interpret "unused" to mean any funds not yet settled, even if actively wagered.

Your best bet is escalating to their VIP support team rather than standard chat. Reference Illinois Gaming Code Section 1800.320 which requires clear disclosure of how bonus expirations affect pending wagers. MyBookie actually handles this better — their bonuses stay locked to active bets until settlement.

Wait, so bonus money can just disappear while you're using it? That seems illegal. I was about to sign up with DraftKings for their NBA promos but this is making me second-guess.

Are there other books that don't do this? I'm new to sports betting and want to avoid getting screwed over.

DraftKings has been doing this since they launched in Illinois. I got burned on a similar situation during March Madness 2024 — had

50 on a live total that was about to hit when their "Weekend Warrior" bonus expired at Sunday midnight.

The key issue is they process bonus expirations in real-time rather than waiting for active bets to settle. FanDuel and BetRivers both wait until your pending wagers close before removing expired promotional funds.

I switched to BetWhale after that incident. Their bonus system is way more transparent — when funds are about to expire, you get 24-hour notice and they clearly show which active bets would be affected. Plus their live betting interface actually shows your bonus balance separately from real money during active wagers.

For Illinois players specifically, I'd recommend documenting everything with screenshots. The Gaming Board has been cracking down on these practices lately, especially when operators don't provide adequate notice of how bonus expirations interact with pending bets.

This exact thing happened to me with a

00 Bears moneyline bet in December. DraftKings' excuse was that I should have read the "complete terms and conditions" which apparently include some buried clause about real-time bonus expiration processing.

The frustrating part is they still took the vig on the converted bet. So not only did they claw back my bonus funds, but I'm now paying juice on what was supposed to be a promotional wager.

Illinois Gaming Board complaint took about 3 weeks to get a response, but they did force DraftKings to provide a detailed explanation of their bonus expiration policies. Didn't get my money back though.

The timing on your situation is suspicious. 11:47 PM expiration when the terms said 11:59 PM suggests their system processed the bonus removal early, possibly due to server time zone differences.

Document the exact timestamps from your bet history and compare them to the promotional terms. If there's a discrepancy, that's grounds for a formal dispute. DraftKings has been sloppy with their Illinois bonus implementations since launch.
