Went to the Hawks game against Nashville last Tuesday and they're still charging

8 for a 24oz beer during what's obviously a rebuild year. Team's sitting at 12-28-4 and the UC is maybe 60% full on most nights, but concession prices haven't budged from last season.

Compare that to the Sox who dropped hot dog prices to

during their worst stretch in 2023. I get that the United Center has different overhead, but you'd think they'd adjust pricing when half the lower bowl is empty by the third period.

Anyone else notice this disconnect?

The Hawks are clearly tanking for Celebrini or whoever's available in the draft, but they're pricing concessions like it's still 2015 and we're making playoff runs. Meanwhile parking is still $40 and they wonder why attendance is down 35% from last season.

The concession pricing makes zero sense when you factor in the betting angles. Hawks team total unders are hitting at 78% this season — I've been riding them at MyBookie since December and they keep setting the line too high. But if you're dropping $60+ on beer and food to watch a guaranteed loss, you're getting fleeced twice.

Smart play is pregaming at Billy Goat and just betting the under from home. Hawks averaging 2.1 goals per game over their last 15, and the books haven't fully adjusted. Save the

8 beer money for actual value bets.

Hold up — are we sure this isn't just corporate greed masquerading as "market positioning"? I've been tracking concession prices across different venues for a project, and the UC is charging premium rates while delivering a minor league product. That's not economics, that's exploitation of fan loyalty.

Look at what happened when the Cubs tanked in 2012-2013. They actually lowered some concession prices and added value deals. Wrigley was still packed because fans felt like the organization cared. The Hawks front office is doing the opposite — keeping prices high while icing an AHL roster.

The real question is whether this affects season ticket renewals for next year. If they keep gouging fans during a tank year, what happens when they're competitive again?

I've been going to Hawks games since 2008, and this pricing strategy reminds me of my marathon training philosophy — sometimes you have to take a step back to move forward. The difference is, when I'm in a recovery week, I don't charge myself full-rate coaching fees.

Last month I went to three games in a row tracking this exact thing. Game 1 against Detroit:

8 beer,
4 nachos, team lost 4-1. Game 2 versus Columbus: same prices, team lost 3-0. Game 3 against Florida: same overpriced everything, lost 5-2. The pattern became clear — they're not adjusting for performance or attendance.

It's like running a 5K at marathon pace. You're not optimizing for the current situation. The UC needs to read the room and adjust their pricing model to match what they're putting on the ice. Fans will come back when the product improves, but gouging them during a rebuild creates long-term resentment.

Just hit the over on total concession complaints this season. But seriously, the UC pricing is why I switched to watching games at home and putting that beer money into crypto books like Thunderpick. Their live betting moves fast enough that I can hedge Hawks spread bets in real-time when they inevitably blow leads.

The economics don't add up. UC's operating costs are mostly fixed — utilities, staff, maintenance — regardless of attendance. But when you're drawing 12,000 instead of 19,000, you need volume pricing to maintain revenue.

Basic math: 12,000 fans ×

8 beer =

Just hit a decent win on NBA props last week and trying to cash out $950 from an offshore book. They're asking for driver's license, bank statement from last 30 days, and a selfie holding my ID. Submitted everything Tuesday morning but still showing "under review" 4 days later.

Is this normal timing? The site says 24-48 hours for document verification but I'm past that window. This is my first withdrawal over $500 so maybe they're being extra careful, but getting nervous about the delay.

What's been everyone's actual experience with verification times? Trying to figure out if I should be worried or just wait it out.

16k potential beer revenue. Drop it to
2 and maybe you get 15,000 fans buying, that's
80k but better fan experience. The current model optimizes for short-term cash flow over long-term loyalty.

This is my first season following the Hawks closely, and the pricing shocked me.

8 for beer when the team's clearly not trying? At least make it
2 so new fans like me don't feel ripped off watching a developmental roster.
