Tom Barnard (Barney):
- Coached 9 years at Kishwaukee CC from 1983 to 1992 and recorded a record of 360 and 88.
- He was known for the development of his players as he had 58 MLB draftees, 7 of whom made it to the big leagues. Over his 9 years he helped 60+ players go on and play in the NCAA.
- In 1985 he started his career with Pittsburgh Pirates as a part time scout/minor league instructor outside of his college season.
- In 1992 he become a full time employee with Pittsburgh Pirates as a minor league development coach and scout. He retired in 2007.
- He pitched to Troy Glaus and Jermaine Dye during the 2006 MLB Home Run Derby
- In 2006 he started the Athletic Barn Baseball Academy where he has helped local area players learn to play at a higher level. Since then, The Barn has advanced 89 players to the next level (both college and professional)
