About Us
WHERE THE BARN BEGAN:
During Tom's 27 year tenure with Major League Baseball, he would find time to give back to local athletes in the off season. Quickly his reputation spread across the Chicagoland area as he trained the conference player of the year 10 years in a row while also sending more than 80 athletes on to college and professional levels. In 2005 he was blessed with the birth of his son Bryk, which led him to travel less as a scout with the Pittsburgh Pirates. In 2006 Tom was chosen to throw in the Home Run Derby at PNC Park in Pittsburgh to both Jermaine Dye and Troy Glaus. Soon after is when he decided to take The Barn to the next level and make it his full time career.
ATHLETIC BARN HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM:
In our High School program at the Athletic Barn we play both a Summer Ball season as well as a Fall Ball season. Our Summer ball program begins around Memorial Day and runs through the last weekend of July. Our Fall ball season begins the middle of August and concludes the middle of October. We play in the highly competitive I-94 league which consists of many of the top programs in the Chicagoland area. During both the Summer and Fall, the games are college oriented showcase games played on every weekend.
